Seltzer Group speaks at Reading Chamber Expert Exchange- Reading Eagle Takes Notice
On July 31, 2012, Ann Marie Blashock, The Seltzer Group’s Director of Human Resources and Benefits, presented An Update on PPACA and How to Choose an Employee Benefits Package at the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce’s Expert Exchange. The PPACA (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) is a very hot topic right now. Health care reform will mean some big changes to the way businesses handle their employee benefit programs and unfortunately the information out there is cumbersome and unclear. Blashock took the pages and pages of change information and narrowed it down to what employers need to know now and what will be required of them in the not so distant future.
Blashock also explained the various options employers have when it comes to employee benefits, stressing the importance of understanding each option to create the best benefits package for your company- for some this may mean the fully insured market or alternative funding.
The topic of employee health benefits can no longer go un-noticed or misunderstood. Employers need to stay current with reform mandates and take the time to review their options.
