Healthy Thanksgiving Tips

Thanksgiving is tomorrow, November 25, and that means spending time with family and friends, taking a day to count your blessings and be thankful. It’s also a day filled with rich and often times unhealthy food. Here are a few tips to having a happy and healthy holiday and how to indulge without going overboard.

  1. Use a smaller plate for your meal. It’s easier to take more than you need if you have a larger space to fill.
  2. Eat your vegetables first. This way you will fill up on more healthy foods and won’t have as much room for the unhealthy ones.
  3. Skip desert or have a reasonable sized portion.
  4. Skip the butter.
  5. Keep portion size in mind for everything else.
