Health tips: Hydration

Remember to stay hydrated this summer to avoid heat related injuries. Everyone is at risk: from young athletes during sports, to older adults doing yard work, to people enjoying a summer holiday in the sun.

 Here are a few tips to remember:

–         Drink plenty of fluids before you go outside in addition to while you’re outside

–         Eat light, but often

–         Wear light-colored clothing

–         Remember that caffeinated and alcoholic beverages will dehydrate you more so avoid these beverages while outside on hot days
