Congratulations Poly Plastics- Poly Plastic Products of Pennsylvania Celebrates 291 Days with out an Accident!
Schuylkill County’s Poly Plastic Products of Pennsylvania rewarded it’s employees on September 28th and 29th for working safely and achieving 291 days without a loss time claim. In addition to the company wide celebration, certain employees were recognized for their personal triumphs. 16 employees were awarded for reaching 5 to 9 years without an accident, 9 were recognized for 10-14 years of service without accident, and 4 were awarded for 25 years of service without an accident.
“With the challenges created by the current state of our economy including a decrease in manpower to help reduce costs, many employers may have experienced an increase in workplace injury- so this is definitely an accomplishment for Poly Plastics.” states Steve Stramara of The Seltzer Group, a business consultant to Poly Plastics, who was there to help congratulate and thank the employees.
“We just wanted to let everyone know how pleased we are that we’ve gone over 6 months without a loss time claim,” Tim McGowan, Vice President of Operations at Poly Plastics, addresses each employee, “and I want to thank you for working safely!”
Poly Plastic Products is a major inline blown film extruder and converter of polyethylene products manufacturing custom industrial plastic bags, sheeting, bundling film, and garbage bags. Subsequent to existing management taking control in 1980 in New Jersey, Poly Plastic Products moved to Delano in Schuylkill County Pennsylvania in 1983. Since that time the company has grown impressively from approximately $12 million in sales to $60 million presently. In addition to the Delano headquarter location, there are plants located in Newark, NJ, Marshville, NC, and a fourth plant now in the planning stage.
Poly Plastic Products of Pennsylvania is doing their part for the environment as a major recycler of polyethylene products and installing energy saving equipment & lighting. Poly Plastic Products is a member of the Sigma plastics Group which is the largest independent producer of blown film in North America and they serve as a major employer to Schuylkill County, PA.
